GUI-app supervision requires Accessibility permission. Toolspring guides you through setup.

The things that keep your work moving.

One quiet supervisor for the apps, commands, and background services you depend on. Free covers GUI apps; Pro adds command and daemon supervision.

  • Your apps

Keep selected GUI apps available, even when they crash, quit, or stop responding.

  • Your commands

Keep long-running terminal work in motion with Pro.

  • Your background services

Keep supported daemons running quietly in the background with Pro.

Built for the failures ordinary relaunchers miss.

Most restart tools notice when a process exits. Toolspring can also notice when a supported app is stuck or being updated.

  • When an app freezes, Toolspring knows.

For supported GUI apps, Toolspring can detect a process that is still running but not responding, then take the configured recovery action.

  • When it gets stuck, bring it back.

When a GUI app is alive but unresponsive, Toolspring can force-recover it and relaunch it.

  • Updates should not start a tug-of-war.

When Toolspring detects an in-flight update, it holds relaunch until the update settles.

  • There when you need it. Invisible until then.

Launch supported GUI apps in the background and show them from the menu bar on demand.

Power when you need it. Quiet when you don't.

Set the rules once. Toolspring handles the routine work.

  • Set conditions

Restart only when it makes sense: crash-only, when the network is up, or when a path exists.

    Pro
  • Schedule the day

Run targets on a daily schedule or interval, with catch-up after sleep.

    Pro
  • Know what happened

Persistent logs you can search and export.

    Pro
  • See the pattern

Uptime, restart, crash, and hang metrics per target.

    Pro
  • Watch resource use

CPU and memory monitoring with threshold alerts.

    Pro
  • Script it

Control Toolspring from the CLI with JSON output.

    Pro
  • Stay informed

Focus-aware local notifications when something changes.

    Pro
  • Stay awake

Prevent idle sleep while a supervised target is running.

    Pro

A process can be alive and still be broken.

launchd, macOS's built-in service manager, can restart a process after it exits. Toolspring can also see a frozen app, wait for an update to finish, and keep the app hidden until you need it.

  • Exit-only detection misses hangs.

launchd restarts a process after it exits. It cannot tell when a supported app is running but not responding.

  • Updates can become a tug-of-war.

launchd's keep-alive can relaunch an app in the middle of its own update. Toolspring waits for the update to settle.

  • One restart authority.

Toolspring owns relaunch across your configured apps, commands, and daemons, so nothing else competes to restart them.
